E-Commerce
Technology Primer
Overview
The Internet has moved from fad to trend and the results of this are that businesses are looking at ways to capitalize on this technology.
Early web sites have moved from brochure-ware to fully functional e-commerce sites.
But a new trend is emerging to reduce costs through integration of disparate types
of technologies existing on partner sites, improving internal processes, and
selling directly to other businesses.
This course will provide a Web-based Application Architect's view of the issues and challenges of creating these types of Web sites.
Participants will learn about some of the limitations confronted by developers of HTML,
Java, HTTP, Application Servers, the rapid obsolescence of anything built, and some of the potential solutions to these problems.
The course will give a good overview of the design issues related to creating
scalable, flexible and secure sites. Case studies of both large and small sites will
be given to highlight these issues.
