Linux GUI Programming for GTK+ and Gnome
Course Objectives
Linux GUI Programming for GTK+ and Gnome is designed to teach programmers how to create GUI programs in Linux using the popular GTK+ toolset. Upon completion of the course, students will understand the GTK+ toolset and will have a working knowledge of the most commonly used components of GTK+.
The course will be taught in a classroom using computers installed with a current Linux distribution. The emphasis will be on hands-on programming, with the time divided between lecture and labs. In the programming sessions, the student will build a small game application, enhancing it with each lab.
Prerequisites
Students should be proficient in the C programming language and should have completed Axian's Linux Use For Developers and Linux Programming Tools or equivalent. To complete the labs, students will have to be able to work with Linux editors, compilers, makefiles, and debuggers.
